Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-19-05  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Damn, what was this game all about??
Oct-21-05  DeepBlade: The two Knights were battling for the f7 pawn, the Black one trieing to defend it and the White one to attack.

The game was drawn by the 3-Move Repetition Rule

Jun-19-11  rrrttt: Isn't the knight hanging on f3?
Jun-19-11  psmith: <rrrttt> So is the knight on h6 hanging. (Attacked by B and R.)
Jun-19-11  Shams: I might try 11.Nd3 instead, eyeing Nf4-h5.

6.Qf3 is close-but-no-cigar; correct is Nc3 protecting e4 and then on g2-g3/fxg3 white has Nf3. But I don't think this move sequence was yet known in 1841...

  GrahamClayton: White should have continued in gambit style with 6. ♔g2 after 5. g3, eg 6...gxh2 7. ♖xh2 ♕f4 8. d3 ♕f6 9. ♘f3.
Jun-20-11  Shams: <GrahamClayton> Precisely why we first protect e4 with Nc3, since in your line 6.Kg2 Qxe4+ and 7...Qxc4.
