Apr-29-07  rahidz2003: 8. Qd3 instead of Qg3 would have prevented the knight fork next turn

hesyrett: <rahidz2003> True, but 8 ♕d3 is an awkward move and Black stands better after that.  Chigorin may not have foreseen his ♕ getting trapped when he played 5 ♘c3, which is the real lemon.  Although chessgames.com files this game under "Bishop's Opening", it is in fact a King's Gambit Declined, and the correct fifth move for White is 5 c3.  This game shows one reason why!

brankat: A Chigorin type of a blunder :-)

But Mr.Goldenweiser played a fine game here.
