Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-19-03  patzer2: Malahkov wins an interesting R + N vs. R + N ending after Bologan blunders with 59...Rxc6??

In Bologan's defense, his position (a pawn down) was difficult. However, this blunder ended all hopes of salvaging a draw. Better was 59...Ra6 or 59...Ne3 or 59...Rb5. Trying to win back a pawn on c6 too quickly with 59...Ne7?! may not work so well for black after 60. Ne4 Ke6 61. Rc5!

Jan-03-04  PinkPanther: 60.Ne7+!
Bologan can't do any better than losing the exchange in this position. 60.Ne7+ Kd7 61.Ne5+ and black loses the exchange. Any other move king move by black on move 60 loses the entire rook. Nicely done my young Malakhov!
Dec-29-05  waddayaplay: Bologan played sloppy in the endgame. Perhaps he tried to win. The position at move 31 is at least not a losing one.
