Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-23-03  Never1.b4: Why would white consent to a draw just after winning a pawn? Is there a mistake here?
Dec-23-03  Lawrence: Never1.b4, Junior 8 suggests 17.....cxb6 18.♖xd6 ♗xa4 19.e5 ♔c7 20.♖xd8 and the situation is just about equal.
Dec-23-03  Ruylopez: Help me out, folks. I just started kibitzing recently. Why is a game like this (draw after 17 moves) posted? I'm not being critical, I'd simply like to know.
Dec-24-03  Lawrence: Ruy, we all love a win, especially a spectacular one, but go to the home page, type in "Capablanca", moves no more than "20", result is...draw, and see what you get. And he was the greatest natural-born chess genius of all time. Neither you nor I are interested in these games but they form part of the history of chess and I'm convinced that chessgames is right in including them in the database.
