Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-29-09  birthtimes: It's difficult to win a game when none of your pieces go beyond your 4th rank for 17 straight moves.

Another "typical" Petrosian win, as he closes the center, prevents kingside counterplay, and initiates action on the queenside against White's backward b-pawn.

White loses valuable time moving his king, and fails to defend properly. After giving up his b-pawn, he attempts to initiate action on the kingside, but not surprisingly Petrosian has everything under control, and before White can blink, he finds his a-pawn gobbled up by Petrosian's bishop.

And in the end, Petrosian's own a-pawn finds willing escort service thru the co-operative function of rook, knight, and bishop.

Another masterful performance by Iron Tigran.
