Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-28-05  InspiredByMorphy: I like the way Greco plays. I think most would play 4.Nf3 but 4.f4 is played in hopes of opening the f-file. However it is tricky because black sees this and decides to close the f-file with g5. However this opens black up to an invasion of the h-file which white uses to win via 10.g3
Feb-17-05  InspiredByMorphy: 4. ...d6 would have saved NN a lot of grief.
Oct-20-05  DeepBlade: Nice analysis InspiredByMorphy. 19...c6 could prevent, or at least postpone, the mate attack.
Apr-20-17  Yigor: It's similar to the previous #26 Greco-NN game/composition. However, here Greco finds the correct atacking continuation 6. d4! instead of erroneous 6. h4?
Apr-20-17  Yigor: 6... Bb4? is a mistake. Better moves: 6...b5, 6...d5 and 6...Bb6. 7. c3 Ba5 is straightforward. Now Greco finds again the correct attacking move 8. h4!
