  WannaBe: 20. ... Bc4 was a beautiful trap laid.
And would have 23... Qd3 be a better move than taking b3?

Shams: <WannaBe> materially, maybe 23...Qd3 is better-- but why not get the queens off and force an easy endgame win?

of course white saw that he would lose the queen for two bishops after 21.Qxc4 but she was lost anyway (21.Qa5 b5). White's game was a debacle much earlier...note that he spent four moves getting his lt.sq. bishop to f3, where it stands as a big dorky pawn.

I hate the Taimanov setup, it always embarrasses me as white. Recently I started transposing into KIA wherever possible.

Sep-05-05  snape: Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best line against the Taimanov for white?
