Kibitzer's Corner
May-28-09  The Bycote: A beautiful finish! Unless I am mistaken, the game would conclude like this:

37...Kg8 38.hxg6! Qxh2 39.gxf7+ Kxf7 40.Rg7+ Kf8 41.Qe7#

37...Kf8 38.hxg6! Qxh2 39.g7+ Kg8 40.gxh8=Q#

37...f6 38.Qe7+ Kg8 39.Rxg6+ Qxg6 40.hxg6 Rxh2 41.Qf7+ Kh8 42.g7+ etc

I've just discovered Lilienthal's games today and I am truly loving what I'm seeing! His skills on the white side of the closed games are tremendous. I would highly recommend a study of his games to anyone who wants to play these openings, as I myself do.

May-28-09  WhiteRook48: great finish.
