Jan-10-06  morpstau: yes lowenthal goes pawn hunting and finds his king naked on the kingside. time to resign black. any comments on morphys handing of the french? the so-called exchange variation.
Jan-27-06  MorphyMatt: Morphy doesn't seem a 3. Nd2-ish player, more like 3. e5 or 3. exd5 exd5 4. c4
May-04-07  wolfmaster: Yet again, Lowenthal goes pawn hunting in the Exchange French and loses after a mere dozen moves.

FSR: <profK> How about an IM losing in 14 moves as <White> in an Exchange French? S Tatai vs Korchnoi, 1978
Jul-09-16  garland: Interesting how Morphy rarely uses pawns as the front line. Just pure piece play and activity. You get the feeling the qside attack in this game would play out with some form of a-pawn attack between two modern players.
Nov-23-16  MarkBuckley: Seems Morphy always treated the French proper as a Petroff: food for thought.
