Nov-30-04  alexandrovm: Right on <kingsands...etc> and welcome!
Mar-12-05  Orbitkind: Can anyone help me as to why white cannot play 31.Qxh4

  tpstar: 31. Qxh4?? g5 32. Qg3/Qh5 Rxf4 wins.

Nice display by Kasparov of a positional advantage leading to winning tactics.

Oct-21-05  Gritty: 1973, how young would Kasparov been? 10?
Oct-26-05  Anatooly Homedepotov: 10. Welcome aboard, Gritty!
Dec-11-05  roger05: Hi Sadgrinner, Magerramov resigned because Kasparov would not have played Qxe5 to recover the Knight. He could have gone Bxg2+. Not taking the Bishop with the Queen results in mate so after white Qxg2 Black would Qxf5 taking the rook and not the Knight.
Jan-24-07  radioterapista: Bxg2 + ??, because after that move there is Qxg2 and lose the advantage... If white plays Qxf4, black plays Kxd7 and white can resign. Sadgrinner idea is correct! (I think)
Feb-21-07  amadeus: 26.Re2 seems like a regular blunder to me.
26... Qf5-Bc5-Bc6 was nice, but why not 26... Rxf4 ? Fear of a trap? Doesn't kids like tactics anymore? BTW, nice ending.
Sep-09-07  MH7000: Y would Rxf4??? Then black would do rook to d1, right? help me out here
Mar-22-08  Jason Frost: <sadgrinner>There is no endgame white resigned because after 36 ... Rxf4 37. Rxf4 Qxe5 38. Rf1 Qxb2 white can't stop the pawn from queening.

<amadeus>Why Gaza played 26. Qf5? instead of Rxf4! winning immidiatly, probably had a mental lapse or fell asleep.

<roger05> After 37. ... Bxg2?? 38. Qxg2 Qxf4 39. Nxd7( ) white is up 2 pieces for two pawns

Nov-06-08  TheWizardfromHarlem: why does 10.Nb3 come after Bd7?
Nov-06-11  DubbleX: good game kasparov crushes in end game
Nov-28-12  Arkan: 18.11.1973 is the exact date of the game ! update it pls
Mar-07-13  Chessbing: instead of asking why, i say 36.Nxe5 Rxf4 37.Qxf4 could've been played to save the knight. But this is not to take Garry Kasparov's greatness away from the man.
Mar-07-13  Chessbing: I'm sorry 37Qxf4 and black answers amazingly with Qxg2 checkmate
Mar-07-13  Chessbing: kasparov the great kasparov the wonderful
Apr-04-13  Shibin: I was checking this game with the engine, and imagine my surprise when the engine showed -5.2 after 26.Re2. Kasparov missed 26..Rxf4!
Jun-09-13  pumping707: 26 Rxf4 is the best move for kasparov......I guess the guy didn't see it...
Aug-27-13  Cedroke: 35. ... Rc2 36. Bf2 Be3! Would surely be beautiful, the bishop can't take because of Bxg2, leading to mate in a couple of moves.
Feb-27-14  MrJafari: An exciting game but Why didn't white do: 36.Nxe5 ?!
May-03-14  Stonefaces: Sweet and good game played..
Dec-10-15  KPMITfan: Worth a Game of the day
Dec-22-16  kaliber39: Gentelmen 28. Kd5 any good?
Apr-13-20  dhotts: Elmar pushed his e-pawn 20.e5 too late and succumbed to Gary...Had Elmar done so earlier on move 17.e5!, he would have crushed Gary.

In case (like me) you're wondering why this is: 17....dxe5 18.fxe5 bxc3 19.Qxg7! Rg8 20.exf6!.
