Jul-14-04 | | acirce: At least 7 times, 4 in Linares (2003 and 2004), where he has +1 =3. What do you mean he didn't "earn" a win, Kasparov played a bad move and Radjabov made use of it. |
Jul-14-04 | | ruylopez900: <acirce> Yes, I know. Al credit for finding the win, but it was a big blunder, it's not like Radjabov realized the Q was to war on the K-side and slowly grinded out a tempo, which then won him a superior position and then efficiently came in for the kill and dominated Kasparov without the latter playing a truly ? move, like he did in their game. |
Jul-14-04 | | acirce: Well, have you actually looked at the game? Kasparov was already in trouble when he made that weird blunder, nothing says that Radja couldn't have won without it. Just because your opponent plays a strange losing move in a position already worse it's not like the win doesn't count or you didn't "earn" it. |
Jul-15-04 | | Dionyseus: Kasparov has played Spassky very few times, and the two Spassky wins over Kasparov was before he became world champion, and as we all know, Kasparov beat Karpov, who beat Spassky. |
Jul-15-04 | | AgentRgent: <Dionyseus> Spassky's wins over Kasparov were 2-4 years (81 & 83) before Kasparov became world champion (1985). GK was almost certainly not yet at his full potential, but he was close. On the other hand, Kasparov's 2 wins over Spassky didn't come until 17-18 years (89 & 90) after Spassky LOST his title (1972). Let's at least compare apples to apples... or grapes to grapes if you prefer... |
Jul-15-04 | | acirce: I think even in 1985 Kasparov was quite far from his full potential. |
Jul-15-04 | | AgentRgent: Perhaps, But he was certainly closer to his prime than Spassky was in 89/90... |

 | | tamar: Goodbye <Pink Panther> I see in your profile you are leaving. You brought a lot of life to these pages. |
Jul-18-04 | | OneBadDog: Is Pink Panther leaving? That's too bad. I didn't agree with a lot of his posts, but he always kept the discussions interesting and he did make a lot of valid points in his posts. |
Jul-28-04 | | ruylopez900: <OBD> Yes, according to the profile Pink Panther has made it like Ben Lau and left. |
Jul-28-04 | | acirce: So I never had to put him on ignore; it was close several times. |
Aug-02-04 | | PinkPanther: <acirce>
Do you honestly think I care whether you put me on ignore or not? In fact, I should to the same to you, to keep from having to see your stupid Kramnik avatar time after time, as you shamelessly try to drive your kibitz count through the roof. |
Aug-02-04 | | acirce: You're the only one who cares about that stupid kibitz count since you bring it up time after time again. I have actually suggested to chessgames.com that it be removed. And no I didn't think you'd care, when I wrote that you had already left. |
Aug-02-04 | | PinkPanther: No, I don't care about kibitz count, it just annoys me when other people try to drive theirs up. If I cared about kibitz count would I have not posted here for nearly 3 weeks? Would I take all the time to make most of my posts as long as they are? No, I think not. |
Aug-02-04 | | acirce: You care a lot about OTHER people's kibitz count that's what I meant. For me, I think it could be there as a fun detail, but when people like you develop this kind of unhealthy obsession about it, I think it better be removed. |
Aug-02-04
 | | cu8sfan: The Kramnik avatar really is kind of scary and probably gives me a wrong impression of what <acirce/Ulf Hammarström> is like in real life. However he can kibitz twice as much if it's always as deep as it is. I honestly think that <acirce> has a deep knowledge of the game that we all love so much. There are other I would accuse of bringing their kibitz count up by just posting useless one-liners... |
Aug-02-04 | | acirce: <cu8sfan>
Yes I would actually like a more worthy Kramnik pic, not that it's that important to have him at all but.. thank you a lot for your compliment, anyway. As for you I like both your posts AND your avatar. :-) |
Aug-02-04 | | PinkPanther: <cu8sfan>
(cough.. acirce.. cough)
Who else did you have in mind? |
Aug-02-04 | | HailM0rphy: I guess I'm not the only one that thinks that Kramnik avatar is kreepy & annoying when you see it over and over..and over And over
<cu8> I think knight13 just has the wrong idea bout this site and messaging in general |
Aug-02-04
 | | cu8sfan: <pp> I'm not calling any names but if you've been reading posts on this site you may have noticed someone posting 'good game' to every game that is not a draw. Now that serves nothing else than bringing up post count. acirce posts a lot and like everyone else (including me) it's not always chess related but there's a lot more chess in his posts than in the ones just mentioned. |
Aug-02-04 | | PinkPanther: This must have been happening recently, because I don't know what you're talking about. |
Aug-02-04
 | | cu8sfan: Check out Steinitz vs Blackburne, 1869 for instance. You'll know whom I mean. There are dozens of games like this. This guy has 135 kibitzes and I bet you he only kibitzed 270 words! (-: |
Aug-02-04 | | PinkPanther: Well, he says a bit more than you originally implied, but I see what you're getting at. |
Aug-02-04 | | HailM0rphy: <cu8> did you read the my post above yours? |
Aug-02-04
 | | cu8sfan: <HailM0rphy> Yes, I did but only after I wrote mine, sorry. |
