Aug-26-04  popski: I would like to see Planinc to play Fischerandom. It looks like he is confortable in unbalanced games. Interesting how can games tell's us about his personality.

  Honza Cervenka: Position after 20.Qxa8 is great fun to analyse. For example, 20...Ne5+ 21.Kd4 (21.Ke4 f5+ 22.Kxe5 Qxc3+ 23.Kd5 Qc5# or 22.Kd4 Qd2+ with mate.) 21...gxf4 22.Kxe5! <[22.gxf4 Bc5+!! 23.Kxe5 (23.Kxc5 Qxc3+ 24.Kd6 Qc7+ 25.Kd5 Ke7 ) 23...Qxc3+ 24.Kd5 (24.Ke4 Re8+ 25.Kf3 Rxe3+! 26.fxe3 Qxe3+ 27.Kg2 Qf2# or 26.Kg2 Qg7+ 27.Kf1 Qxa1+ ) 24...Ke7 25.Qc6 Rd8+ 26.Ke4 Qb4+ 27.Kf3 Bb7 ]> 22...Qxc3+ 23.Ke4 (23.Kxf4 Qf6+ 24.Ke4 Qf5+ 25.Kd4 Bc5+ 26.Kc3 Qe5+ 27.Kc4 Ke7 28.Qc6 Be6+ 29.Kd3 Rd8+ 30.Ke2 Bg4+ ) 23...Bg7 24.Rhd1+ Kc7 25.Rac1 Bb7+ 26.Qxb7+ Kxb7 27.Rxc3 Bxc3 28.Rd7 Kb6 29.Rxf7 fxe3 30.Kxe3 is probably drawish. Maybe 23...Qb4+ 24.Kf3 Qb7+ 25.Qxb7 Bxb7+ 26.e4 (26.Kxf4 Bxh1 27.Rxh1 Bd6+ ) 26...fxg3 27.Rhd1+ Ke8 28.hxg3 f5 give black some advantage but it is still far from convincing. But I can't believe that white can survive there. Some new resources of attack can be hidden in 23...fxg3.

  GrahamClayton: <Honza Cervenka>,
What about 20...♗g7. It seems a lot more prudent than 20...♘e5+. Seeing how Planinc played this game, I think he would have preferred 20...♘e5+ anyway!
Apr-18-18  morfishine: Planinc the Magnifico!
Jun-07-20  Baahubali: Splendid combination at the end...especially when facing a somewhat attack.
