Oct-14-09  SirChrislov: Amazing game. sad that no analysis/kibitzing has been made. there's so many little-known masterpieces that people would be glad to see and this is one of them. for more, see my game collection.
Oct-14-09  parisattack: This particular game is analyzed by Gligoric in his book, I Play Against Pieces (Game 22).

Bobotsov went down here but refined the variation and had good success with it for several years. Walter Browne also played it.

Nov-27-09  Lovuschka: According to Jakov Neistadt's book about queen sacrifices, Gligoric gave the following line after the game: 21.f5!! Qf4+ 22.Kb1 Qxf5 23.Bg6! with white advantage. The computer improves this with 23.Bd7!, winning the pawns e6 and d5 for the pawn f3, with decisive advantage. "Fritz 11" finds no defense at all after 21.f5, too.

A nice variation is 21.f5!! b4?! 22.Se2 Qc4 23.Sd4, and:

- 23...Qxa2 24.Sb3! a5 25.fxe6 a4 26.e7 axb3 27.Bd7! winning.

- 23...exf5 24.Rhg1+ Kf8 25.Bc6! Rg8 26.Se6+ Kf7 27.Rxg8 Kxg8 28.Bxd5! Qh4 29.Rg1+ Kh8 (diagram)

30.Sf8! and white wins the queen or checkmates.
