fredthebear: The possible 13...Bxe5 snatching up the loose central pawn would be a huge mistake for Black. White would respond with 14.NxNe6 w/a discovered attack on the Black queen, winning a piece w/tempo and more threats in play. Both knights eventually are exchanged on the e5 square fighting over the e5-pawn, but White gets the e-pawn material back with 23.Bxe7. 23...g5 to disconnect the Queen's protection of Be7 will not work out.

The rest of the game indirectly exploits Black's back rank weakness. The light-squared Bc8 is bad, leaving the Re8 undefended yet responsible for Black's back rank defense. White doubles rooks to pin the Be5 to the open e-file, and is threatening penetration on the h-file.
