Oct-05-15  zanzibar: According to <CG>'s Opening Explorer the "novelty" 7...Nd7" was first played in this game.

But also see:

A A Smorodsky vs Nimzowitsch, 1914

which I believe was played earlier.

FSR: Hmm, 4...Nd7 didn't do too well in these two 1914 games. No wonder it wasn't played again for ten years.

DanQuigley: It took me longer than I want to admit why Black resigned here. After 24...Qxe5 25.Qxe5+ Kxe5 26.gxf5 Kxf5, isn't Black up a pawn or two? Check it out though. White has an absolutely winning 25th move.
May-11-18  bengalcat47: After 24...Qxe5 25. g5+ wins the Black Queen.
