If 28.Q??,Qg1+
Or something good.
Point being, black doesn't seem to be in such a bad spot.

sachistu: It's not so clear this game should be attributed to Arthur Simons. Chessbase Correspondence database lists the venue as a correspondence game in USA in 1952.

Moreover, the Chessbase version stops more sanely with Black resigning after 25...Kf7 instead of the version given here. White certainly seems to be actually losing after the lemon 26.e6+. Instead, he has mate in 3 with 26.Qf3+

With such common names, it seems difficult to know which venue is correct. However, the theory of From's Gambit was not known (developed) in 1852. I can find only 2 instances of it being played before 1900. In addition, it looks like the line beginning with 6.Bb5 was initially played in 1908 and only once after that (prior to 1952); whereas that line has been played many times in the following years.

All of this proves nothing. Chessbase could have a typo for the year, but then their venue of 'USA' would also seem to be wrong. Regardless, it's hard to accept 26.e6+(?) as the final move as given here. It would be nice if someone has a source reference for the score and venue give here.
