  wwall: Best may be 11...Qc8. If 11...c6, then 12.Qf7+ Kd7 13.exd6 Kxd6 14.Bf4+ Kd7 15.Rd1+

If 12...dxe5, then 13.Qf7+ Kd7 14.Be6+ Kd6 15.b3 gxf5 16.Ba3+ Nb4 17.Bxb4+ Kc6 18.Bxe7. Not 12...gxf5?? 13.Qf7+ Kd7 14.Be6 mate.

After 15.Bg5, White threatens 16.Bxe7 Qxe7 17.Rd1+, winning the Queen.

Apr-19-07  wolfmaster: This must have been played very early in 1857 because Szen died that year on January 13!

Honza Cervenka: 9.Nxf5 came like a bolt of blue. Maybe 9...d5 was a better reaction.

Maybe this game is what killed him.

Honza Cervenka: Well, 1857 may be also based on the year of publication of game.
