DiceToThat: Ha! That knight was poison! Poison! Muahhahahahha!

This was a weird opening. Combined with dismal play and overagressive pawns by black, white's bishops are allowed clear lines to the black king. Perhaps Henderson read one too many books on controlling the centre. Or maybe not enough books on avoiding mate in 3.

Sep-04-06  sneaky pete: White may well be Bristol based Elijah Williams.
Mar-23-09  OnlyBelieve: I've never had any luck with the Double Duck. However, I'm a 1.f4 (Bird) player, so I usually give it a shot whenever I need variety...
Mar-23-09  WhiteRook48: 10...Nc6?? is crazy!
Mar-09-10  YoungEd: 5. ...c4 was probably a dud here.

  fredthebear: The SF notes do not ? 5...c4 but do say: better is 5...Nf6 6.O-O Nc6 7.c4 cxd4 8.exd4 g6 9.Nc3 Bg7 = 0.00

It's not good for Black to open with five straight pawn moves.
