Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-14-07  Genevieve: Why did black resign? White is in trouble with an exposed king, while black is at least ok.
Sep-14-07  whiteshark: <Genevieve: <Why did black resign? White is in trouble with an exposed king, while black is at least ok.>> You are right, after 14... Qd6 or 14... e5 black is fine.

1) Ultracorr 2006 database gives <1:0> and as source 'BG319' which could stand for <Blackmar-Gemeinde> the newsletter sent by E.J. Diemer

2) In my Diemer-Duhm-Database this game is twice: <1:0> and <0:1>

3) In <Tom Purser's <"BDG World, <Issue 71 (1-2/1996; game 2155)>>> this 14 moves are only given <as line only> without result.

So maybe black abbandoned the game and white claimed it as win or

they agreed to stop and Diemer only mistyped the result in his BG319.

Werner's playing career spans 87 years in this database;-) Munchies were his style.
