  Chessical: I hope that Jackson saw (but too late) and Sultan Khan intended spectacular move:

<36. Bd6!!>

<36... Qd8> 37. Qf7+ Kh8 38. Ng6 mate <36... Nf8> 37. h6!! (the queen is immune due to h7+ and Ng6 mate) 37... Re7 38. Bxc7 Rcxc7 39. h7+ Kh8 40. d5 and wins.

The more pedestrian <36. h6> also wins <36...Rf8> 37. hxg7 Qxg7 38. Qxe6+ Rf7 39. Nxf7! as Qxd4+ is only a spite check.

May-19-10  YoungEd: Very nice analysis, Chessical! It took me a minute to see (before reading your notes) that 38. ♗d6 is a deflecting sacrifice; 38...♕xd6 runs into ♕f7+ and ♘g6++ (similarly to after 38...♕d8. It takes real skill to find a move like 38. ♗d6!! Well done.
