Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-24-06  badbishops: A very nice rook sac...attack the king while he's vulnerable in the middle. I can't believe a game like this has gone a bit un-noticed.
Dec-25-06  syracrophy: 21...♔h7 22.♖h6+!! ♗xh6 23.♕f7+ <My favorite mating line, but also works 23.Qf5+ Kg7 24.Qf7#> 23...♗g7 24.g6#

What a delightful mating combination!

Jan-24-08  sneaky pete: 21... Kh7 22.Rxg7+ Kxg7 23.Qf7#.

20... Nf8 21.Qc4+ Kh7 22.Rh6+ Bxh6 23.Qf7+ Bg7 24.Bf5+ Ng6 25.Bxg6#.

Jan-27-12  King Death: Donner's sense of danger must have failed him in this game, a nice sacrificial attack by the solid GM Darga.
Jan-27-12  paul1959: Darga had Donner`s number ( 5-0). 8...g6 looks slow. If I remember correctly, the standard plan is Bb4 followed by d4 to simplify and try to saddle White with a bad B.
Jan-27-12  King Death: <paul1959> White usually played 7.g3 Bb4 8.Bd2 d4 9.Nb1 though the whole idea didn't work out too well in this game: Fischer vs Keres, 1959.
Jan-27-12  paul1959: My old ECO gives 7...Bb4! and says it is best going back to the g3 line (=).
Feb-24-19  Diana Fernanda: Good game the white forever better, the sac the rook is nice
