Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-07-06  PhilFeeley: What a weird game! Half the time I'm not sure what the material balance is. It doesn't seem to matter to Welling. He appears confident enough in the complexity of his attack that he just plays on.
Sep-04-06  aazqua: This isn't a weird game at all. Welling sees a little deeper and the other guy misses an obvious pin which results in a serious loss of material - game over. Welling likes to prey on mediocre players by using his eccentric openings to create odd and complex positions. He generally gets crushed by decent competition.
Sep-04-06  mack: What's your problem with Gerard Welling, <aazqua>? He posts here under the handle <gejewe>, and if you left a message on his player page I'm sure he'd reply. He's a very interesting player with some equally interesting ideas.

wwall: 30...Rxd4?? fails to 31.Rxb6!. Black should try 30...Bb4.
