Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-16-05  ReikiMaster: 14. a6 seems very strange: it loses a pawn and also gives black several good ways to use b6-square.
Aug-16-05  ajile: Wouldn't it be great if they had mpegs of these rapid games. I'd love to see these guys going at each other in speed chess. How about they charge $10 to see the whole match. I'd pay it.
Aug-17-05  Reveller: I watched that game live in the playing hall in Mainz. It's not so interesting to watch the guys. Instead of 25. Ng5 Grischuk should have played h6 and after Bh8 the black bishop is out of the game. According to the announcers, Jussupov and Dautov, Grischuk pressed to win later in that game, because he was to points behind at the time. Otherwise a draw was possible.
Aug-17-05  olav dalkeith: is black's threat? 43...Rxe2+ 44.Qe2 Ra2 45.Bd2 Rxd2 46.Qxd2 Qxf3+
Aug-17-05  olav dalkeith: or simply 43...Ra2 winning the bishop on e2?
