I looked him up in the FIDE database and nothing came up...> This isn't surprising, there are other players that did most of their playing before FIDE lowered the standards for getting a rating (like me but I managed somehow or other). <AJ> was more than likely a FIDE ~2200 player which was what you needed to be to get published for a long time. When FIDE changed their parameters I don't know but it's a sure thing that if <AJ> played in a FIDE event or two anywhere today, he'd have no problem. Even somebody much weaker could do that. |

And yes I love to read Science Fiction, but I'm being judicious with the money right now. And I'm really good on opening books, although the Openings According to Anand vol. 500 would complete the collection... Well that's got it. |

I think he was just surprised that the Admins would punish him too, after years of letting him get away with his foolishness. I think that <AJ> should stay, but he should leave that smug arrogantness behind; and let the whole <I'm a Life Master and you're not> thing better left unsaid. No one cares about that title, except him.
I'm not trying to be mean here, but that is the way it is. |
