Nov-30-05 | | CZAR: the losing move here is 27...c5? this move doesnt make any sense. do you have to drop a pawn just to exchange bishops?? and whats wrong with 31...Qxd7??? so what if 32. Qxg6+ when black escapes with 32...Kg8 33. Rxh5 Rf7 34. Qh7+ Kf8 35. Rhg5 Rb7 and black is ok. But white has an advantage in the end-game because he has more pawns, although three pawns for a piece is equal. And besides, if white traded a piece for three pawns, cant black do the same? I think Black blundered badly, the game is still equal after 31. Nd7 |
Nov-30-05 | | castofclowns: Equal after 31. Nd7? I doubt it. |
Nov-30-05 | | castofclowns: 1. (1.91): 31...Bh6 32.Qf6 Qxf6 33.exf6 Rbc8 34.Nxf8+ Rxf8 35.Rh1 Rxf6 36.Rgh3 Kg7 37.Re1 Bf4 38.a3
2. (2.16): 31...Rh8 32.Nxb8 Rxb8 33.Qf4 Qe7 34.Rh1 Bh6 35.Qf6 Qxf6 36.exf6 Rf8 37.Rgh3 Rxf6 38.g4 Kg7
3. (2.44): 31...a5 32.Nxf8+ Rxf8 33.Rf4 Qe8 34.Rxf8 Bxf8 35.Ke2 Qb5+ 36.Kf2 Qd3 37.Qf4 Bh6 38.Qf7+ Bg7 39.Qa7
4. (2.44): 31...Ra8 32.Nxf8+ Rxf8 33.Rf4 Qe8 34.Rxf8 Bxf8 35.Ke2 Qb5+ 36.Kf2 Qd3 37.Qxg6+ Qxg6 38.Rxg6 Kxg6 39.g3 Be7 40.Ke3 |
Nov-30-05 | | CZAR: i'm talking about 31...Qxd7. I dont see anything wrong with it as i explained earlier. 31...Qxd7 32. Qxg6+ Kg8 33. Rxh5 Rf7 34. Qh7+ Kf8 35. Rhg5 Rb7 = Black is ok. You mentioned 31...Bh6?? its met by 32. Nxf8+ while 31...Rh8, a5 and Ra8 are blunders. As you said, 31...Bh6 32. Qf6?? exchanging queens at such a good attacking position is a big mistake! |
Nov-30-05 | | CZAR: also, 31...Bh6 is bad not only because of 32. Nxf8 it also losses to 32. Nf6+ Kg7 (32...Qxf6 33. Qxf6 Rxf6 34. exf6 losses the exchange, whats a Bishop and one rook against White's powerful rook pair?) 33. Nxh5+ Kh7 34. Nf6+ which wins a piece. |

Dec-01-05 | | castofclowns: CZAR you said that after 31. Nd7 its still equal. Im refuting your idea by posting the above analysis, and as you can see after each variation it ended with a sign for White for White indicating unequality for the position, stating that White is better. Im not saying that the analysis are winning for Black im just posting it for you to see that after 31. Nd7 all possible move leads to a better position for White not equal as you stated! |
Dec-01-05 | | castofclowns: CZAR: i'm talking about 31...Qxd7. I dont see anything wrong with it as i explained earlier. 31...Qxd7 32. Qxg6+ Kg8 33. Rxh5 Rf7 34. Qh7+ Kf8 35. Rhg5 Rb7 = Black is ok. 31. Qxd7??? 32. Qxg6+ Kg8 33. Qxh5!! and analyze it my friend! |
Dec-01-05 | | CZAR: Well, i overlooked that move. But still i stick to my first opinion, theres nothing wrong with 31...Qxd7 --Its better than Movsesian's reply ...Rg8??. After 32. Qxg6+ Kg8 33. Qxh5 Black holds on with 33...Qb5+ 34. Ke3 Rb7 35. Qh8+ Kf7 36. Qxg7+ Ke8 37. Qg6+ Ke7 38. Rh7+ Kd8 39. Qxe6 etc. Although Black is losing, its still better to hold on as long as posible specialy if your opponent is in time trouble. Now which is better?? This continuation or Movsesian's??(Although both continuations are losing). Which continuation lasts longer??? Obviously, Movsesian's continuation is worst. |
Dec-01-05 | | CZAR: (Error:not 39. Qxe6); I meant 39. Rxb7 Qxb7 40. Qxe6 etc |
Dec-01-05 | | castofclowns: CZAR: Well, i overlooked that move. 31. ... Rg8 of course! It will hold better than your series of variations! |
Dec-01-05 | | castofclowns: 33...Qb5+ 34. Ke3 Rb7 35. Qh8+ Kf7 36. Qxg7+ Ke8 37. Qg6+ Ke7 38. Rh7+ Kd8 39. Qxe6 What if i replied 35.Qh7! isn't your 31... Qxd7 a certified patzer move? 35.Qh7+ Kf7 36.Rxg7+ Ke8 37.Rxb7 Qxb7 (other moves leads to at least mate in 3) 38.Qxb7 Kd8 39.Rh7 Now how can you delay the mate threat? At least my variation doesnt lead to a mate in 9! and surely will last longer! (#9): 35.Rxg7+ Rxg7 36.Qh8+ Kf7 37.Rf4+ Ke7 38.Qxf8+ Kd7 39.Qd6+ (#9): 35.Qh8+ Kf7 36.Qxg7+ Ke8 37.Qxf8+ Kxf8 38.Rh8+ Kf7 39.Rhg8 Qxb3+ 40.axb3 Rxb3+ 41.Kf4 Rxf3+ 42.gxf3 Ke7 43.R3g7# |
Dec-01-05 | | CZAR: Movsesian is wrong, don't say you agree with his dubious 27...c5??--too? Well, i havnt fully analyzed the game yet, but at a glance anybody could say that Movsesian is wrong. After my variation, i could give spite checks to make it last longer...Movsesian lasted 41 moves, how long could you last in that position?? And can you point out the losing move in this game?? I'm sure its 27...c5?? |
Dec-02-05 | | Dindo: You guys can you analyze this option.
31.... Qxd7 32.Qxg6+ Kg8 33.Qxh5.... now is there a way for black to defend the coming Qh8 and Rxg7. |
Dec-02-05 | | castofclowns: Dindo that exactly what i told to Czar!! See analysis. Dec-01-05
castofclowns: CZAR: i'm talking about 31...Qxd7. I dont see anything wrong with it as i explained earlier. Here is my reply to him
31...Qxd7 32. Qxg6+ Kg8 33. Rxh5 Rf7 34. Qh7+ Kf8 35. Rhg5 Rb7 = Black is ok. 31. Qxd7??? 32. Qxg6+ Kg8 33. Qxh5!! and analyze it my friend! |
Dec-12-05 | | yefri: As a grandmaster, Movsesian should be resigned early. Absolutely before Qg2+?? |
Dec-19-05
 | | offramp: Those vinegar-stroke checks are just like a computer plays. |
Dec-25-05 | | CZAR: i get the point, i just saw those foolish variations in less than a minuite i guess because i was playing online too at the same time, but now i'v fully understood the game. Nd7 truly wins |
Feb-17-06 | | Vernon Rae: Why dont you guys organize a tournament to see whos better at analysis.Tell me the details. |
Feb-25-07 | | aazqua: Although this looks like a gambling game by white its actually just good fundamental chess. He leaves the king in the center but controls the important squares and most importly has knights with powerful outposes against a pair of bad bishops that are hemmed in by their own pawns. Greeat game by white - black is basically lost in and lost by about move 20. Nice icing on the cake at the end though. |
Aug-04-08 | | dadsespinosa: hahahaha.... naging by d' egols na desperado jokejoke |
Jan-06-09 | | shintaro go: Another fine win against another future Super GM. |
Feb-28-09 | | KERESOV: Excellent game by the Filipino prodigy GM Mark Paragua ... White made good use of his strong outposts at c5 and e5. His nagging initiative kept the super strong Movsesian busy defending his kingside and had no chance for counterattack. Two wonderful open files the c and h file provide an avenue of attack which Mark use to good effect. |
Aug-25-09 | | WhiteRook48: this is like a computer, throwing away material in hopelessness |
May-14-10 | | BillTaylor10: dis at least two moves before mate. isnt it? |
