Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-18-05  patzer2: Ponomariov seems to have lost patience and simplified to an endgame too soon with the dubious 34. Rxe8+?!, giving Black a small but clear edge which slowly increased to a winning advantage.

Instead, 34. Red2= appears to equalize and hold the position.

Dec-18-05  patzer2: According to http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail... this was the second and must win game of the tie breaker in the FIDE tournament. So, this might explain why Pono pressed for a dubious win in a situation where Black had much better chances.
