TheFocus: This game-score is wrong. White's 27th move was Kg1, followed by 28...Qh2+ 28.Kf2 Qg3+ and mate next move.

From a blindfold exhibtion at the German Exhibition in London. Played August 5.

fredthebear: Lasker drops a blindfold simultaneous game here. Black grabs the initiative and keeps beating White to the punch, finishing w/a double bishop sacrifice and Gueridon Mate along the h-file.

Who is J. Sargent? The classic book "Morphy's Games of Chess" was written by Philip Sergeant.

MissScarlett: <In his blindfold display at Earls Court Lasker took on a mere three opponents - one of whom (said the (Morning Post on the 6 August) was our John Sargeant (sic) identified as from Brixton CC. Lasker beat a Mr Vandyk "within the hour ...announcing mate in four moves". Then "about six minutes later the German resigned the second game" and with this brutal demolition of the young champion, Sargent claimed another elite scalp - making it a hat-trick after Zukertort in 85, and Gunsberg in 85. Lasker's third game against Mr Home "was eventually left drawn".>
