It was this sort of practice that did for Pillsbury.

Nov-23-14  JimNorCal: OK, I'll bite. What is a "leapfrog" simul?

Nov-23-14  JimNorCal: Thanks <penguincw>
I guess we don't know Lasker's leapfrog partner, then.
Nov-23-14  Calli: Yes, Lasker waa leapfrogging with Géza Maróczy. It was quite a site I imagine! according to Whyld., Black was "Mrs H."
Nov-24-14  TheFocus: Oh my. I didn't mention that Lasker's partner at leapfrog was dear old Maroczy.
Nov-25-14  TheFocus: Personally, I prefer the term tandem chess instead of leapfrog.

Unless they were playing leapfrog in between moves!

The <Morning Post> of December 3rd 1900, p.2, indicates it was, in fact, conducted on 23 boards, the gentlemen winning +21 -0 =2.

scutigera: Note Black's careful preservation of the LSB on moves 13-14 in a spirited attempt to make it the world's worst Bishop. Sadly, the coup de grâce came before NN could move the a-pawn one square.

Sting later retired the bad-bishop title.
