Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-25-06  SneechLatke: Breyer clearly refutes 5.Nb1?! as a poor response to the Winawer Gambit for white. 10...Qa5! is excellent, threatening a discovery against the black king as well as 11...Bc8! (as in the game), which effetively traps the queen and forces the win of a piece. The Rb8 back to a8 idea, gaining tempi for the cost of two pawns in order to get ahead in developement and create decisive threats is one which I find very attractive.
Jan-06-14  Karpova: This game is from the Austro-Hungarian National Championship in Budapest, June 1913, according to pages 165-166 of the May-September 1914 'Wiener Schachzeitung'.

Szekely withdrew from the tournament and that's why he is usually missing from the tournament crosstable.
