Apr-13-06  Whitehat1963: The way black plays, his name should be "Grabinski." Can someone please explain what 13...0-0 was about? For that matter, what is 24...fxe5 about?
Apr-07-15  Conrad93: <The way black plays, his name should be "Grabinski." Can someone please explain what 13...0-0 was about? For that matter, what is 24...fxe5 about?>

13...0-0 is necessary in order to prevent. 13...Be7 14. Nd6+ Bxd6 15. Nxd6+. Material is even, but black can't castle and white has plenty of activity.

The piece sacrifice gives black two passed pawns and threatens Nb4-Nc2+.

White is uncastled so In can see why he went for it.

24...fxe5 is just a blunder.

Apr-07-15  Conrad93: I haven't actually checked with a computer, but black's sacrifice looks as if it should work.
Apr-07-15  Conrad93: Okay, I finally did some infinite analysis.

According to Stockfish, the mistake was 15...Nc6.

Black should have played either 15...Ba4! or 15...Bc6, and black does have some compensation.

After 15...Nc6, the evaluation is two pawns in white's favor.

Apr-08-15  chessfootball: text move was 15... Bc6 instead 15...Nc6
Apr-09-15  Conrad93: <text move was 15... Bc6 instead 15...Nc6>

I'm confused by this comment. Doesn't "text move" imply the move played on the board?

Malakhatko play 15...Nc6, not 15...Bc6.

Apr-11-15  chessfootball: Malakhatko played 15...Bc6.
Apr-12-15  Conrad93: <Malakhatko played 15...Bc6.>

Did he? I guess you should report the error to ChessGames, since the game on the site clearly shows 15...Nc6.
