Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-16-07  farrooj: Very nice zugzwang in this game. An amazing combination for a blind game!
May-27-11  Shams: Shirov writes in _Fire on Board_ that 8...Qc7 is already a slight mistake, and implies that black's unpromising pawn grab on move 14 might already be his best idea. 23.<Nxf6!> The exclam is not for the move itself, which after all is not so hard to see, but rather for the timing-- the combination cannot wait, for given the move black plays ...Kh8-h7 and white must regroup and look for a breakthrough elsewhere.

<28.Rg6> "Closing the box, so black resigned." Worth a diagram:

A position that would make a border collie happy.
