Kibitzer's Corner
May-30-06  Ingolf: Nice exchange sac by Ivanchuk. The point I guess is the quiet 36.Qc3 attacking the, as it turns out, undefensable e5 pawn. 36.- Qe7 and 36.-Qxd5 allow 37.Qc8+ forking the rook, while 36.- Qb8 is met, I believe, with 37.d6 Rxd6 38.Qxe5+ Kd7 39.Bf4 Qb6 40.Qxd6+ Qxd6 41.Bxd6 Kxd6 42.c4 and the pawn endgame should be won for white.
