He could have played simply 4.d4 instead of wasting time by moving his queen several times in the opening

  fredthebear: Black just keeps building up his position.

There's a neat zwischenzug pawn lever with 15...b5! that allows the Black knight to stay put and form a battery on the half-open file.

The other Black knight initiates a useful remove the guard sequence with the temporary sacrifice 23...Nxd3.
