Jonathan Sarfati: Zyg Frankel commented on this game in NZ Chess, June 1985. He rightly wondered why Leonard kept swapping material when he had the isolani. He was normally much more active in this opening, and he now prefers the Sicilian which suits him well. Actually, the problem was not so much the swaps but the swaps combined with leaving the rooks on, because isolanis are particularly bad when rooks are tied to the defence, resulting in the pawns being pinned as here (34. c4 )
