Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-07-07  Gouki: how is this draw? isnt white winning?
Apr-07-07  Davolni: hmmm.... interesting draw...
to me white is winning... but I guess the b and c pawns are dangerous, that may be the reason for the draw....
Apr-08-07  Gouki: plus, Van Wely has been playing like a 2500 rated GM and not like a super GM lately.

GM Pashikian should have probably played on and waited for Van wely to blunder! although it may be hard to convert, i think he could have pulled off a win from this :D

Apr-08-07  Davolni: <Anybody> Lets get some ideas from masters and some professionals. Anybody would think white could be winning??
Waiting for some ideas.......:) thanks in advance
Apr-09-07  Davolni: will anyone comment on why the game was not continued??? Why is it a draw?
Apr-12-07  Gouki: seems that no one is interested in giving the drawing line..
Apr-12-07  TrueFiendish: How is white winning? He has a very small nominal material advantage. However, advancing his passed pawn will be difficult and meanwhile black can play ...b5 and ...a5, with the possibility of creating two connected passed pawns.
Apr-12-07  argishti: Well. its a complicated position. its hard to say. this material advantage doesnt seem to be working here, because of the b and c pawns of black. You would need to be a fischer to squeez a win out of this position. But still, it is playable, and i think Arman could have had a winning strike. U never know.
