Apr-14-07  stanleys: Such games are a real shame!!!!!!!

Guys you could have played at least 20 moves before making a draw!

Apr-14-07  Troglodyte: My guess is that White made the mistake of moving the Rook before the King when castling so Toma took the chance to get a quick draw and look like a nice guy while doing it.

A Galkin vs E Tomashevsky, 2007

Nov-02-10  GilesFarnaby: Rf1 in this game was awarded "Best Novelty of the year 2007."

Actually the plan behind Rf1 is very deep: it should follow Ke2, Re1, Kf1, Kg1, etc and then, if you are still alive, resign.

Jul-18-12  Abdel Irada: This game brings back painful memories.

In high school, I was playing a qualifying game before an interscholastic tournament against a slightly weaker player named Whitney Foster. Playing Black, I had an irresistible attack (in fact, I was one move from giving mate), when Foster announced that I'd touched my rook before my king in castling — ten moves earlier.

Foster had a friend on hand who was willing to say he witnessed this "touch-move violation," and the club president was out of his depth. The result was that I was forced to back up ten moves and move my rook rather than castling, which led to a draw by perpetual check a few moves later.

Needless to say, since that game, I've always castled very carefully.
