  chancho: Nice "Krush" by Shulman.
May-17-07  Chess Classics: Great mate by Yury. Looking at a game like this, I feel so proud of the fact that CG has a solid position against him, even if I'm hardly participating.

Regards,
CC

Stonehenge: Shulman made Krush look like a patzer.
May-17-07  Davolni: Shouldn't it be 29.h5# not 29 h5+????
May-17-07  solidricin: Shulman is clearly superior to Krush

WannaBe: <kingsindian2006> No, it's not, because she down and accepted his advanced pawns willingly. =)
May-18-07  newton296: 27) Qe5! sets up Krush for the pretty , pretty mate ! And Irena dives in head first !! U also gotta love move 8) e6! After this it looks all very dicey for black. Yury is clearly superior to krush!
May-18-07  Timex: <Davolni> Many games are like this. CG needs to fix these, but relax, they are very busy. You can't expect perfection.

beenthere240: <newton> what else can black play after 27. Qe5+? Kg6 loses instantly. But yes, 8 e6 was just flat out great.

beenthere240: I'm surprised black didn't try 11....Bd5 to try to hold the e pawn. Not that that move was any good either. I think this game shows the difficulty trying to keep the Q gambit pawn.
May-18-07  MostlyAverageJoe: What is so great about 8.e6? After 8 ... f6, it becomes just a temporary annoyance, to be disposed of within the next couple of moves.
May-18-07  Tomlinsky: <MostlyAverageJoe> The square e6 is now permanently weakened either way along with the light squares on the king side looking decidedly green around the gills. Pushing f6 would make it awkward to bring the knight back over to the king side and there aren't many pieces over that side of the board as it is. Even the dark squared bishop that is isn't going to get developed usefully any time soon without yet further compromises to Black's setup. Perfect conditions for a dangerous king side assault on the horizon. If Black's king could speak and was noble it would probably shout 'run for the hills' to all on the queen-side.
