Kibitzer's Corner
May-28-07  dpacaba: Good game by Bareev
May-28-07  Raginmund: it was a good game indeed, so I don't agree with 12 ... d6?? to me this is the first blunder by the great lady.

Why not 12 .... 0-0 ?? better to fight in a bad position with the castled king than to play how it follows.

I want to know what would happen with 18 ... Nc2. And the last... to me it was a big blunder in

chancho: I could be wrong, but it seems to me like Bareev is showing himself to be the better player in this match. Judit had to play her very best just to salvage a draw in game #1. Let's hope she can pick it up in the next few games...
May-28-07  outplayer: It's Ok. 45.Ke4 prevents the knight fork but 45.Ba6 does the same.
May-28-07  greensfield: <Raginmund> I think 18...Nc2 looks better.

A continuation:-
19.Bxf6 Nxf6 20.Re7 Bxf3 21.Bxf3 Re8 22.Rxe8+ Kxe8 23.Rd1 Nd4 24.Bg2 Kd7

May-28-07  mrbasso: Yeah sure, 12...d6 is a blunder...

That's an opening novelty.
A very interesting pawn sacrifice.
Home preparation for sure.

May-28-07  mrbasso: Well, black is a pawn up. So, pawn sacrifice is maybe not a good expression here. Black returns the extra pawn to release the pressure.
May-28-07  MJW 72: If the match goes on like this Bareev is gonna do well in the tournament or female chess is a total joke.
May-29-07  Knight13: Very nice.

Maxim Dlugy: 18...Nc2 does seem like a better try.
