Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-17-08  Whitehat1963: Quite a rating difference. Somehow I suspect Scorpio is just a little better than advertised.
May-14-08  Whitehat1963: Interesting, perhaps subtle, puzzle after 35...Ng4.

whiteshark: there where over 2,100 losing Petrovs.... :(
Dec-11-09  imag: <whiteshark: there where over 2,100 losing Petrovs.... :(>

I only managed to scan through all 2009 and 2008 games...

Dec-11-09  Ben2000: And I thought black must be kramnik or gelfand.

whiteshark: <imag> ...and I've check 'only' 163 games with less than 20 moves. Well, we've been on the right track, at least! :D

cu8sfan: <whiteshark: there where over 2,100 losing Petrovs.... :(> Agreed. How can you go through all these loss'? I at least went through all loss' of players called Petrov.

SwitchingQuylthulg: Computer code, computer game. It's not real ASCII though, using spaces rather than 00 or (even better) 20.
Dec-11-09  acirce: I thought it was a trick question. I knew about the saying but didn't know that there were games where the Petroff actually lost.
Dec-11-09  arifattar: Didn't have the will to go through all the games of Mikhail Chigorin. But did go through Gabriel and even Angel Pons.

  cu8sfan: <Angel Pons> I went through his games, too!

<acirce: I thought it was a trick question. I knew about the saying but didn't know that there were games where the Petroff actually lost.> Lol! Good to see you back here, acirce.

Dec-11-09  Jason Frost: <cu8sfan> Likewise, but he only had 2 wins, so it quickly became apparent that it wasn't him.
Dec-11-09  SamAtoms1980: Another window with plenty of open. Decoded the ASCII almost instantly, and after wasting time with a bunch of players with "Angel" in their name, got the Mig Greengard link. Still, I wasn't going to go through all jillion Petrov losses (but did check in case it was Petrov himself).

<SwitchingQuylthulg: Computer code, computer game.>

And I might well have made that final connection if it hadn't been after 5 in the morning.

Skill makes its own luck.

Dec-11-09  WhiteRook48: scorpio was actually pretty good, but he miscalculated with ...Bd1
Dec-25-10  kevins55555: Sacrifice a whole queen and get mated?? Now that's suicide...
