ganstaman: This variation of the Winawer reminds me of the Lasker variation of the Mac Cutheon, only without white's king being in as vulnerable a position, and also white's DSB and black's kingside knight are still on the board. To me, then, this seems inferior. Is there more to this than I am seeing?
Jul-06-07  Atking: Yes a great game <<gastaman> Is there more to this than I am seeing?> Probably even all together it will be difficult to understand completely this game. A pawn down but a strong h pawn for White. Needless to say about "bad" bishop. May be 35...Ng5 was simpler and a best way to defend.
Jul-07-07  Aware: wow
Jul-07-07  Ulhumbrus: With 22 Nh3 and 23 Nf4 Anand's N on g5 goes to f4 via h3. Following this, in a different position, by 38 Nh3 and 41 Nf4 Anand's N goes again to h3 and back again to f4.

Jun-20-09  SetNoEscapeOn: <notyetagm: Anand just *crushes* the French Winawer>

Although several of their games were rapid, something similar could be said about what he does to Ponomariov
