  tpstar: 11. Ne2?? lost material to the fork 11 ... Qa5, since 12. Nc3 Nd4 created another fork exploiting the pin on the Nc3 against the Re1. After 13. Qg4 Nxb5 White played 14. Bd2 (14. Nxb5? Qxe1#) hoping for 14 ... Nxc3?? 15. Bxc3 and Black must give up the Queen (15 ... Qxc3 16. bxc3) to avoid mate on g7, but Black saw it (14 ... Qa6) so White was a piece down for nothing.

This tactic is often seen in the Four Knights Game (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. Bb5 Bb4 5. d3 d6 6. 0-0 0-0 7. Bg5 Opening Explorer

Here nobody plays 7 ... h6?! because after 8. Bxf6 the ugly 8 ... gxf6 is forced, due to 8 ... Qxf6?? 9. Nd5 followed by 10. Bxc6 bxc6 11. Nxb4 winning a piece.
