  offramp: Merry Christmas, me hearty-o's.
Dec-25-18  landshark: I think Black also wins after 28...Qc1 where 29.Re8+ Kh7 30.Qe2 is met by ....Ba6, but the game continuation leaves nothing to chance.
Dec-25-18  ChessHigherCat: Since I just woke up from a nap, the hard part was figuring out it was black to move! After that, RxB+ followed by Ba6+ was immediately apparent

Vive le Grinch!

Dec-25-18  saturn2: 28...Rxf1+ 29. Kxf1 Ba6+
and mate soon

30. Qe2 Qd1#
30. Re2 Qd1#
30. Kg1 Qc1+ etc

  agb2002: White threatens Re8+ and Rxc8.

White's back rank is too weak. This suggests 28... Rxf1 29.Kxf1 Ba6+:

A) 30.Q(R)e2 Qd1#.

B) 30.Kg1 Qc1+ and mate in two.

C) 30.Rd3 Bxd3+ and mate next.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Dec-25-18  Cheapo by the Dozen: Both players have backrank threats, so best to go for an utterly forcing line. ... Rxf1+ followed by ... Ba6+ gets it done; after that, all White has is useless interpositions before mate.

malt: A Merry Christmas to all.

28...R:f1+ 29.K:f1 Ba6+ 30.Kg1
(30.Qe2/Re2 Qd1# )
30...Qc1+ 31.Qd1 Q:d1+ 32.Re1 Q:e1#

Dec-25-18  schachfuchs: You don't need to be a
Chessmaster (Computer)
to see this combination! ;-)
Merry Christmas everybody!
Dec-25-18  King.Arthur.Brazil: Monday puzzle always is a fun time! Rxf1 and a sequence beginning with Ba6+ follows to give mate. I know that some strange comments are retired, but it is the solely way to say Merry Christmas everybody, including a wish for a happy New Year too. This Includes you in the background of this site which let us lieve some precious moments of our lives here. Even more, for me from Brazil, which in 2019 finnaly begin to get rid from the worst political robbery gang ever known in the history, including the lier bandit of name Lula which is in jail. And there are many other trials in Justice and several others parallel investigation in course, which are blocked or unoticed by our commited press and by foreign press which are part of this plan to destroy our country. Pres. Bolsonaro is the answer of the decent people of our country which are the majority and -about more than 13 years- were harmed until CNN and car-wash operation showed every where, who were these guys and what they were doing to us. I thank you so much the opportunity of being here and to say something good from my country again: our people finnaly open the eyes and they are not hearing the paid lies of midia. This midia received money from the old govern to still cover these thiefs. I hope that their time is over and 2019 we can finally start the reboulding of our country. Apollogize me to write so long and I know that certainly this comment will be removed ahead. No problem. Thank you so much all you from Chassgames. It is honor to be here with you.

  OrangeTulip: Happy Combinations!
Dec-25-18  stacase: How nice a (Wednesday) Christmas present.
Dec-25-18  Damenlaeuferbauer: My solution is 28.-,Rxf1+ 29.Kxf1,Qc1+ 30.Ke2 (30.Re1,Ba6+),Ba6+ 31.Rd3 (31.Kf3,Qd1+),Qc2+ 32.Ke1,Bxd3 -+. Merry Christmas to all real chess players in my home country Germany, in the United States of America and in the Spanish-speaking countries!

Once: Happy Christmas all. May all your back ranks be protected, your pieces unpinned and your pawns be passed. And here’s hoping that your zugs will always be zwischened and never be zwanged.
Dec-25-18  zb2cr: Very good, <Once>! And a happy Christmas to you.

Simplest is 28. ... Rxf1+; 39. Kxf1, Ba6+. This puts White into the unpleasant choices detailed by <saturn2>, <agb2002>, <malt>.

Dec-25-18  stacase: I've been amusing myself with
https://www.chess.com/play/computer
level 3 and winning all the games. After cleaning house with the Queen taking all of the computer's pieces I thought it should be put to music. At least that part would sound like a pin ball machine - "BadaDing ding ding ding ding" and so on.

My somewhat short search on YouTube didn't turn up anything. Any way a classic game animated with a musical sound track to reflect the greatness or worseness (-: of the moves is what I have in mind.

Has anyone seen something like that?
