Nov-22-07  Sequoia: Something missing here...
Nov-22-07  Bob726: It must have been a french, otherwise 3. Nf6? and 5. Nxe4???????????????
Nov-22-07  pawnofdoom: Yes, probably. 1. ... e6 makes no differnce in the game. But there is still something wrong in the ending. I dont' see how white wins, and theres no possibility that Ivanchuk would have flagged in that position after 10 moves.
Dec-02-07  PAWNTOEFOUR: crafty evaluates the final position @+1.32
Dec-02-07  vaughan jackson: Hi! My name is Vaughan Jackson, and I am relatively new to the Chess world, at 36 years old not getting any younger, but still not an old man yet!

Can someone please offer selections for a good beginner's book, which explains openings and the middle game, defences, notation (do I need that yet?),French, Sicilian, Ruy Lopez, Tarrasch Defense, etc.Plus Traps and Zaps if possible.

I always like to attack, akin to the spirit of Kasparov and his idol Alekhine.

Dec-27-07  thegoldenband: Is there any chance of getting a correct game score for this one? I looked around for other copies, but all the PGNs I could find had this bizarre 10-move blunderfest.
Oct-20-08  gambitfan: Why not 5... ♘xe4 ????
Oct-20-08  gambitfan: What happened in this game ???

I understand nothing !!!
