Chessical: The whole defence is suspect after <7...f6>.

<17...Be6?> is a blunder, <17...Kf8> was forced. It appears that Rotlewi had counted on <g6> and overlooked the threat of Qh4 in reply.

<21. f5!> Bxf5 (or 21...gxf5 22. Nxf5+ Bxf5 23. Rxf5 Rf8 24. Qg5+ Kh8 25. Rxf6 winning) 22. Nxf5+ gxf5 23. Rxf5 Kf7 24. Re1 and wins.

Sep-01-20  MordimerChess: Rotlewi was 17 years old when playing that game in local club tournament in Łódź. And he faced #4 in the World, super start Akiba Rubinstein.

He won one game (after Akiba blundered). And this one was played more seriously. Maybe strange but yeah 7...f6 is mistake. We have couple of games in DB where 7...Nf6 is played - mostly won by white and some where 7...Ne7 is played (1 win for white, 1 for black).

But seems that it's better not to go for 4...Qxd5 variation. 4...Nf6 is more popular nowadays, played by superGMs as well.
