Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-01-07  LivBlockade: I was very surprised that White did not play 46. Rxe4. Does this lead to difficulties?
Dec-20-10  KingG: <Does this lead to difficulties?> Not that I can see. Strange decision.

Interestingly, White could have won a pawn early on with 20.Bxe4 Bxd4 21.Nxd5 Bxd5 22.Bxd5 Qxd5 23.Qxd4 Qxd4 24.exd4 Rc8, but the resulting Rook endgame may well be drawn.

Dec-20-10  shalgo: As an excuse for the less than perfect play in this game, note that it was an Armageddon blitz playoff game, in which Akobian had five minutes for the whole game and draw odds, while Roiz had six minutes, but needed to win to advance.
