Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-15-08  Dr. Funkenstein: I think the position from black's 23rd move would make a good Friday or Saturday puzzle. The whole sequence starting with 20... f5! leads to a counterattack that culminates in Jobava's incredible combination that finishes with the quiet move Bh3!!

  Gilmoy: Jobava plays <Ba7> again!
Feb-16-08  luzhin: I agree it's a lovely sequence, Funkenstein, but Jobava's 28..Bh3(with the brutally direct threat of Qf1+ and mate)is about as quiet as a fanfare with trumpets.
Feb-17-08  SniperOnG7: Feels good when the KID fights back against the annoyingly solid Fianchetto Variation.
