Ron: Very interesting blindfold game here by Anand. Notice at move 32, Carlsen is up a pawn but Anand it seems has the positionally won game; also, without computer check it seems that if 32.. Ne8, then Anand could play 33. Bh3 with eventual material advantage also.
Mar-22-08  VaselineTopLove: Wow! What perfect play by Anand in such a difficult final phase of the game! I find it hard to believe this was blindfold!

27. c5 is such a cool move

Ron: After 11. .. e6 a possible interesting alternative for White is 12. Nxg6 hxg6 13. b3 with the eventual fianchetto of the queen bishop to b2.

But Anand shows genius, even when blindfold.

al wazir: Why didn't black play 30...Ne8 or 32...Ne8 ? 32...Nd8 looks like a blunder.

  al wazir: <Ron: 32.. Ne8 33. Bh3> f5 34. g4 Nxc7 35. Nxc7 (35. gxf4 Nxb5 36. fxg6 Rf8 37. Be6+ Kh8 38. Rf1) Rxc7 36. gxf5 gxf5 37. Bxf5 Re7.
Mar-24-08  JohnBoy: 32...Ne8 33.Ra7 looks good to me. After 33...Nbd6 34.Nxd6 Nxd6, 35.Ba6 does the trick.

I think that was the reason. Thanks.

On the contrary, there are many credible accounts of his existence.

Nov-02-08  M.D. Wilson: Great game.
Jan-30-11  DubbleX: the blind fold thing is just sick
Feb-11-12  reilouco: I play the Alekhine's myself and 4.. dxe5 is not a great move. Houdini 2.0c recommends Nc6.
