Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-04-08  percyblakeney: Radjabov had a very bad position already around move 20, but managed to give Karjakin some chances to go wrong, for example 35. Bxa3 doesn't lead anywhere after Qg3. White was still winning up until his 36th move, where he should have played 36. Qe3 followed by Qg5 and Rg4, but went wrong with Qf4 and Radjabov escaped with a draw.
Apr-11-08  chessya11: Interesting to see Karjakin starting to play 1.d4. I think his first one was vs. Kramnik at Amber, which was also drawn.
Apr-11-08  square dance: karjakin has actually played 1.d4 5 times in his career. first was in 2001. i the believe this game Karjakin vs B Bruned, 2007 is his first attempt with 1.d4 in his professional career. nice that it resulted in a win, also. here are the other four games, all draws:
Apr-11-08  square dance: i should add "...according to this database." to the first sentence.
