Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-10-08  outsider: this is what happens if you have no bishop to cover f2, if you face open f line and your rival knows what to do. a murder
Apr-10-08  Gilmoy: 10.Na3 dubious -- White "wins" a pawn, but pays about 3 tempi to secure the loose N. Black surely saw it coming, and just ignored it. 13.d5 is getting ugly -- White's B goes bad and Black's B becomes great.

27..g3 <cute interference> 28.hxg3[] <luft to fix weak back rank; but Qg3 and h3 are no longer possible> Qh5 <threatens Rh6> and some fireworks.

28.Qxg3?? Rxf2 29.Raxf2 Rxf2 and White's Rf1 absolutely cannot leave 1, so White either gives the Q or a nasty discovered check.

  ajk68: The tactic here with
28. Qxg3?? was very clever.

I sat there looking at it until I saw the weak back rank threat.

Apr-10-08  luzhin: One last trick: not 34..Rf6?? 35.c5!
Apr-10-08  Alphastar: <Gilmoy>, the pawn sacrifice has been seen before without succes:

Leko vs Morozevich, 2002

Apr-10-08  positionalgenius: Ouch! Hifan is beaten again. I guess the learning curve at the top is pretty tough.
