Apr-24-08  OneArmedScissor: This is a pretty awesome end game.
Apr-24-08  computer chess guy: 35. c4 is interesting. An alternative is b4, when one line goes .. ♘xa4 36. ♘xb7 ♘xc3 37. ♘d8! ♘xe4 38. ♘xc6, and White has a passed pawn, as in the game, but his King is not as well positioned. c4 therefore might be better. But in the game line, Shredder prefers 40. .. ♘b2 and it is then harder for White to make progress.
May-05-08  Alphastar: 40. .. Nb2 will lead to a loss as well, eg 41. Kb5 h5 42. gxh5 gxh5 43. h4 and black is in zugzwang, or 41. ..g5 42. Na7 followed by Nc8xb6.
